Senior Manager Revenue Cycle Management

Bicycle Health is a rapidly growing digital health start-up that offers online Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) for patients with Opioid Use Disorder. We offer an evidence-based clinical program focused on medication management, peer support, behavioral health treatment, and care coordination.

The Opioid Epidemic is a systemic problem - millions of Americans are physically dependent on Opioids but only 10% of Americans have access to treatment. Bicycle Health is addressing this gap by offering online, affordable, and confidential treatment with the goal of helping patients take back control of their lives. 

We have raised $30MM in Series-A funding and grown to over 150 team members serving over 6000 patients across 22 states. We are seeking a Senior Manager of Revenue Cycle Management who will build and lead the billing department while overseeing the design and implementation of the company’s  policies and procedures for reimbursement. This is a full-time (40hours per week), remote opportunity. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees the operations of the billing department, encompassing medical coding, charge entry, claims submissions, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and reimbursement management processes including customer service.
  • Planning and structuring the department workflow and staffing,  including facilitating training and continuing education of staff members.
  • Managing staff performance by providing regular feedback, performance reviews, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Responsible for ensuring that staff follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Implementing a system to ensure that accurate billing information is entered into the billing system, including the correct coding for  diagnoses and procedures
  • Supervising the revenue cycle department in various duties, such as account management, communications with insurance providers, collections, cash posting, contract analysis, and billing.
  • When requested, provide administrative support for department, including but not limited to performing data entry, updating various record keeping systems, upholding company policies and Client requirements, and participating in projects, duties, and other administrative tasks
  • Conducts analytical research and provides expertise on pricing/reimbursement for new and existing services.
  • Keeps abreast of billing, HIPAA, coding,  compliance developments.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in healthcare billing.
  • Sound knowledge of health insurance providers.
  • Ability to research, acquire, evaluate, interpret and utilize payer specific billing policies, guidelines and statutory authorities as appropriate for insurance and collection follow-up.
  • Ability to review and interpret explanations of benefits to determine contractual allowance.
  • Extensive experience with level 1 and level 2 appeals, special emphasis on resolving issues with insurers and direct billings.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable Federal and Local laws and regulations relating to job duties.
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications as well as medical office software.
